Day One: Five Fish Limit @ 16.5 lbs puts me in 9th place.
Day One conditions are perfect for a Rattleback jig.
Day Two: The clouds and rain come in and my trusty Hawg Caller spinnerbait helps secure 14 lbs and a spot in the Top 10 at 6th place.
Day Three: I lose a blade on my prop, can't get to my fish up lake. I pick up a CLU Bass Pop and manage a limit at 12 pounds. I remain in 6th place and still have an outside shot at the win.
The Final Day brings out the chase boats.
My only chance to win on the last day is to pick up the flipping stick and cover water.
Before the final day weigh in at Wal-Mart, I have time to relax in my boat while the co-anglers weigh in.
As the Top 10 gather around the holding tanks, you can feel the nervous tension among us.
Before I go on stage, I share a laugh with the FLW official incharge of measuring our fish.
I begin placing my fish on the scales as tournament director Chris Jones and current leader and hot seater Brian Wilhoit looks on.
By the second fish, the current leader appears still at ease.
When I bring out my third fish, the look on the current leader is Priceless.
My last two fish will get a roar from the crowd and seal his faith. Now I go to the hot seat.
